Community Facilitators-Care Givers (Central Los Angeles Whittier & South Gate ) Jay Nolan Community Services (JNCS) a non-profit agency provides one-on-one direct care support for children teens and adults with Autism & other disabilities so that they may live work and play as independently as possible in their homes and in their community. Currently we have one open FULL TIME position (located in Whittier) working Mon.-Fri 8am-5pm and several part-time positions open in the Central Los Angeles area and surrounding communities. Several of the part-time positions require bilingual language skills. If you are bi-lingual in English and one of these foreign languages (Spanish Armenian or Korean) and have experience supporting children teens or adults with autism or other developmental disability and would like to make a difference in someone s life we would like to hear from you. For employment consideration EMAIL your resume to humanresources(at)jaynolan.orgDUTIES To teach community safety and awareness social interactions and all self help skills.QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for qualified candidates with a minimum of one year experience supporting individuals with Autism or other developmental disability to be part of our team. You must be a team player caring respectful responsible and outgoing. You must be able to use community resources to help the supported individual become independent reach goals and play. An understanding of various cultural differences and Autism is essential. Specific types of support are based on the individual s needs interest and desires. The ideal candidate must be able to communicate clearly and effectively. Special interest in the arts music sports and other activities is a plus. The positions are part-time after school hours Mon.-Fri. and will occasionally include a Saturday or Sunday. The actual schedule of days and hours will vary and the schedule will be determined by the parents. Depending on the individual being supported a staff person may require medical training assist with personal hygiene and must be able to lift a person in and out of a wheelchair. You must have a reliable auto valid driver s license and current auto insurance.
