The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City has an opening for a full-time Operating Journeyman Engineer III. The successful candidate will monitor and inspect equipment. Operates the steam and chilled water plant by adjusting and controlling steam and chilled water and performing water tests and analysis. Performs maintenance on complex equipment. Maintains logs of operation maintenance and safety activities. Requirements High School diploma or GED and 18 months of steam and chilled water plant operation experience. Class I Boilers License from the City of Oklahoma City and State of Oklahoma Class II Boilers License. Valid Oklahoma Driver s License. Skills - Knowledge of machines and tools used to repair and maintain the equipment. - Knowledge of water analysis and chemical treatments. - Knowledge of safe operating procedures. - Detail oriented particularly when watching gauges and other indicators to ensure equipment is working properly. - Ability to give full attention and understand complex written and verbal instructions. - Ability to troubleshoot to determine cause of complex operating errors and discusses with supervisor. - Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions or approaches to complex problems. - Must have thorough knowledge of principles and theories used in the operating of all equipment in the plant including heat transfer water analysis electrical circuitry fuel characteristics chemical treatment and safe operating procedures.
