The Dennis Group is growing and currently seeking Mechanical Engineers Packaging Engineers or Industrial Engineers with Packaging Equipment Design and Material Handling experience. Headquartered in Springfield Massachusetts The Dennis Group is a national engineering firm which offers complete planning process engineering facility development and construction management services exclusively to the food and beverage industries. Successful candidates will design packaging equipment systems to meet the needs of clients in the food industry. This will include handling a variety of liquid granular fragile and or viscous products to be properly packaged. Knowledge of working with these and a variety of other products is required. Coordination with other discipline engineers including process structural design and architectural is a must to design a seamless system. Candidates understanding and experiences should include A fundamental comprehension of manufacturing and packaging process principles Knowledge of machine and process design Preparation of line balance documentation and process flow diagrams Preparation of equipment specifications and purchase documentation Equipment and facility layout design Preparation of machine testing requirements and procedures An understanding or experience with warehouse design and layout Design knowledge of conveyance wrapping bagging carton filling bottling case packing and palletizing An understanding of sanitary design principals Strong technical writing skills Strong communications skills Proficiency with MS Office suite Knowledge of AutoCAD Ability to travel to jobsites A Bachelor degree in an engineering field Process simulation experience is a plus RESPONSIBILITIES Point of contact for client contractor and vendor communications Research process requirements and develop design basis documentation Develop equipment and service specifications Development of schedules for discipline related design procurement installation and start-up Manage vendor selection and equipment procurement Final design engineering support and system acceptance testing Develop and issue installation documentation Develop system start-up and commissioning documentation Installation supervision start-up and commissioning of related systems PREFERRED candidates should have 5 years of relevant experience Experience with sanitary environments Worked in the food industry Equipment installation supervision experience The Dennis Group is not accepting applications from candidates who will require visa sponsorship.
