Business address Elk Point Alberta Work Location Information Rural area. Work Location Elk Point Alberta (Small farm located 3 miles from the Hwy 41 and Hwy 29 junction between Elk Point and St. Paul). Work Setting Services provided in the home of two elderly persons. This is a position for a person who enjoys a job that involves physical activity such as standing walking and lifting. You must be able to perform duties such as meal preparation light housekeeping and laundry. You are expected to have the will to enrich people s lives through caring and compassion as well as have them enrich your life. Transportation Travel Information Own vehicle and valid driver s license required. This is NOT a live-in position you will have to maintain your own accommodation and show up for work every morning. Knowledge experience and skills required Education At least six month geriatric care program (or courses in home support) in addition to (some) high school (first aid certificate required as well). Experience Minimum of one year of experience providing care to senior citizens. Languages Speak English Read English Weight Handling Up to 10 kg (20 lbs). Job Duties Plan and prepare meals followed by clean-up Assist with walking and light exercise Monitor food expiration dates make future meals Make beds and change linens as needed Light housekeeping to include dusting and vacuuming Assist with bathing dressing and grooming Laundry and ironing Take out garbage Run errands (pickup prescriptions dry cleaning) Engage in physical and mental exercises Provide medication reminders Escort on appointments (hair salon physical therapy etc.) Escort to religious services or events Maintain calendar and organize mail Engage in activities (games memory books) Companionship. Additional skills Record daily care notes Maintains a safe clean and healthful environment for the clients Report any significant client changes to the employer.
