Bull is the male counterpart of the cow .The bull is distinguished by the heavy bone structure and muscular body. Bull is a strong animal that are used in farming and making of bullock carts .Bull are aggressive and have often attacked the farmers when they have turned aggressive. They have horns on their head to fight with other bull .The bull engages in a lot of fights due to its aggressive nature or during mating season. Bull are also domesticated for beef generally the young bull before maturity .They have the most healthy beef for consumption .Bull have been worshipped in the Indian religious texts in the form of Nandi who was an ardent disciple of lord Shiva .He was respected by all and till today it is believed that no auspicious ritual is completed without offering fruits flowers or sweets to Nandi. It is traditional to insert rings in the nostrils to tame the animal .A fibre string is inserted from one nostril to control the bull in bullock carts. They are used in various kinds of sports like the bull fighting and bull leaping but now it has lost its relevance due to the ban related to the cruelty of animals. It is a common misconception that bulls get angry when they are showed a red cloth in reality they get angry when they are shown a waving cloth.
