One of our Reputed Law-Firm client is looking for Manager - IT Training & QA (E-training Learning Management Systems Legal Professional Firm Exp.)Location Downtown TorontoPermanent Job Description The IT Training & QA Manager will oversee the IT Training & QA team responsible for developing and delivering end-user technology training and quality assurance of software application functionality.The role is a hands-on leadership role and is responsible for setting technology training directions and ensuring efficiency effectiveness and high quality technology training to all internal user community groups. This will be achieved by working with the CIO the IT Management team and stakeholder groups to develop long-range and near-term training programs and plans that align with technology and business objectives.The role requires the incumbent to work with representatives from the Firm s Practice Groups Business Services departments and IT leadership to assess the IT training and communication needs and to ensure optimal utilization and effectiveness of the technology training offering.This position also assists with implementation of projects the incumbent will work collaboratively with stakeholders to create training plans and implementation strategies to meet the needs of the user community groups.This role is also responsible for overseeing and conducting quality assurance activities to ensure that application functionality is delivered within acceptable standards and to business expectations.This is a National level role and the incumbent will be required to travel. The role can be based in any of the five regional offices. ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of the IT Training & QA Manager is to oversee and assist the IT Training team responsible for developing and delivering end-user technology training and quality assurance of software application functionality. Technology Training Development & DeliveryDesign and implement in-house technology training and development programs including developing course materials and related documents such as e-training course handouts tip sheets and FAQs Design and conduct technology skills assessments to determine skills gaps between current and desirable skill levels design training programs appropriate to the skills needed Implement role-specific onboarding programs in collaboration with the Talent organization Conduct technology training including instruction software demonstrations and briefings workshops webinars video conferences and one-on-one coaching Remain current on the latest training and talent development trends and best practices Maintain partner and employee course scheduling reminder notices and training attendance through the use of a Learning Management System Meet with practice group and service department stakeholders on a regular basis to review technology training requirements use insight gained from meetings with stakeholders to better shape technology training Ensure that IT Training services are fully understood by and accessible to the practice groups and service departments Track and report the status of IT Training requested by and delivered to the user communities Participate in peer networks to keep abreast of current technology training trends and best practices Quality Assurance & Usability TestingCoordinate and conduct quality assurance activities to ensure application functionality is delivered within acceptable standards and to business expectations Provide effort estimates for software application testing as part of project planning Prepare comprehensive application test plan prior to execution of testing as scheduled Conduct thorough software application and integration testing Identify and document non-compliance software application issues using issue tracking tools track test anomalies to closure CommunicationsMaintain consistent and open communications with Practice Groups and Business Service departments Develop communication plans and materials for specific IT initiatives to generate momentum and raise awareness Align training and communications activities with all levels of business functions Develop conduct and analyze end-user surveys Effectively share information and expertise with others delivering technology training solutions making recommendations and identifying alternatives Assist with the preparation of communication materials to present to stakeholders (e.g. PowerPoint presentations advisory memos and memorandums) Management Implement and monitor ongoing measures and mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of the Technology Training & QA function and IT Trainers Contribute to developing and monitoring the development and training plans for IT Trainers complete and deliver performance evaluations consult on hiring and performance management actions as required Evaluate the effectiveness of IT communications review and monitor end-user feedback to improve service delivery Ensure that regular (daily weekly and monthly) statistics status reports and graphical reporting are produced and reviewed to ensure that service levels are met and opportunities for improvement are identified Assist in the management of relationships with 3rd-party vendors and service providers Professional Development and Recruiting Provide proactive leadership and direction to the IT Trainers developing skills and capabilities across the group that will ensure service excellence Create a best-in-class Technology Training & QA function retaining and developing key staff and recruiting additional talent as needed Encourage monitor and support the ongoing professional development and training of the Technology Training & QA function to ensure required capabilities are developed Financial Provide input into the IT Technology Training budget Manage the Technology Training budget through routine cost analyses monitoring of spend and adherence to technology related policies Proactively recommend courses of action to maintain cost-effectiveness MUST HAVES Undergraduate degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years working experience in conducting hands-on training within a legal environment or professional services environment Experience managing a small team of permanent and contract temporary staff Demonstrated relationship building skills Able to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment Service oriented and focused on delivering business results Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable people management skills Proven experience in setting team directions and driving programs to successful completion Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage a variety of concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills bilingual
