Continuous Improvement Engineer

Continuous Improvement Engineer ACPI is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for our cabinet manufacturing facility. The position includes planning organizing facilitating managing and directing continuous improvement functions and projects for our various value streams. A primary responsibility of the position is to analyze design and or improve manufacturing processes. This will be done working closely with the other engineering functions. Key Responsibilities Champion change management and assist in delivering strategic initiative that will aid in improvement or implementation of new systems processes services or cost-effective solutions. Candidate may be responsible for managing multiple projects at the same time. Plans conducts and or directs research and or development work on complex projects requiring the origination scope validation and application of new and unique approaches. Lead and or assist in design automation improvements to existing machines & processes and clean sheet design of new machines and or processes. Use of Lean Manufacturing concepts is essential. Lead and participate in Value Stream Mapping and identification implementation and monitoring of improvements. Lead facilitate and coach continuous improvement teams and or team leaders to find root causes and or actionable items using lean manufacturing tools and best manufacturing processes with the goal of improving current efficiency productivity downtime or scrap issues. Lead and participate in kaizen events. Monitor and track success in terms of stated goals compared to actual savings metrics as dollars and timely activity completion. Evaluate develop and implement 5S and visual communications. Monitor and track status and attainment scores and provide updated information to the organization. Develop and maintain budgets metrics reports and record keeping for identified projects. Resolve machine stop situations and machine performance to increase production quality efficiency or volume output. Qualifications Minimum of AS in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related field required. 1 year or more prior experience in a manufacturing environment with a track record of implementing successful lean improvement projects. Proficient in lean management leadership including the ability to establish a departmental performance metric system to accurately measure return on investment. Successfully demonstrate lean manufacturing experience lean leadership skills and possess the proven ability to work as a team player while motivating others into the lean culture. Ability to utilize project management skills including identifying and effectively resolving issues leading without authority managing multiple projects with diverse priorities meeting project timelines through milestones and mitigating project risks. Must possess assertiveness integrity innovation organizational creativity and problem solving skills to be successful in this position. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with a strong hands-on process manufacturing background and detail attentiveness.
