The trishul has a lot of significance in the Hindu mythology .It is normally the weapon used for destruction of the demon .It is the last resort undertaken by the god almighty when there is a lot of destruction and when there is no other choice other than killing the demon .In mythological terms killing the demons means putting an end to evil and destruction. The trishul is also the weapon of lord durga and there are many stories evolving around the use of the trishul. One story is that lord Shiva had used the weapon to chop off lord ganesh s head and the second story revolving around the use of the weapon is that when the demon was trying to approach Durga for taking advantage of her situation when she was tired and worn out after her long battle with the mighty demon. The three prongs of the weapon are the three mighty gods Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh .But the Trishul is in the hands of lord Mahesh or lord shiva which is the lord of creation .So the creator has the power for destruction. The three prongs are also the three important chakras of our human body the uppermost is the most significant ones and or the lower one is for creation and destruction. The Shiva trilogy explains the importance of the trishul.The knob made in ceramic has a mixture of colours like bottle green brown blue pale green and black for special effects. The trishul is made by two petals with the stem in between them and such a pattern is made on four sides of the knob. The four sides are the four direction north south east and west .The east and west have the same petal colours similarly the north and south has the same coloured petals in the same colour with a stem in between. The centre has a whirlpool which has a centre which is the crust of the earth the centre of the knob is in blue colour which is how the earth looks when seen from space.
