This 1936 Ford 5 Window Coupe was purchased from a collector in Connecticut who collected primarily 1935 Fords (coupes & cabriolets). The car received a full restoration from the prior owner in Washington State where the owner reported 85 000 in restoration costs. The car is an original Ford and shows no indication of having had body damage or rust. This car is stunning under the car as well as with the outside finish work. The engine is a Ford Flathead 59 AB block with dual Stromberg 97 carburetors. The transmission is a 1939 Ford 3-speed. The distributor has been rebuilt and set to factoryspecifications. The car has original instruments converted to 12 volt electrics. Many upgrades have been added to the car including an under dash mounted instrument cluster dual wipers 1940 Ford brakes 15 inch wheels with white wall tires. The interior is very nice and includes a very well done wood grain dash (steel dash with original wood grain finish). The rumble seat has been completely re-built with original1936 butt seat springs and custom modifications to properly secure the back of the seat (corrects factory flaws with rumble seat cars when they were originally manufactured). This is a very fine driving car as well as an excellent show car. I showed the car once and got best in show. The award goes with the car including some spare parts taken off the car.
