Candidates for this role should be self-motived have excellent problem solving skills and have strong communication abilities.SummaryThe position works under general supervision while conducting customer service activities. These activities involve the receipt of household goods cargo claims registering claims in the Interstate Van Lines claim program assignment of claims to claim examiners and other claim related administrative matters. This position requires extensive use of the telephone and requires effective verbal communicative skills resulting in clear and concise two way communication. This position will coordinate GSA National Account COD and Military shipments sets appropriate priorities of needs and resulting services to be provided to ensure quality practice. Assist with Centralized Booking System to maximize acceptance ratio to increase financial profit.Responsibilities Initiate and follow up with tracing actions for missing items. Register claims received into the database. Prepare memorandums requesting service provider information and documentation concerning shipments with claims or potential claims. Review timely notification of loss or damage for missing items and damage extensive to warrant inspection by a qualified repair firm. Maintain repair firm inspection log for inspections ordered by claim examiners. Answer telephone calls from customers requesting filing procedures. Give assistance and direction to customer requests in person by telephone email or by mail. Maintain overall control of overage items returned to this location. Provide assistance to examiners to process and mail out claim packages to service providers with liability assessments. Qualifications or Skill Required Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as client contracts military regulations and procedure manuals. Must possess the ability to write routine correspondence and the ability to speak effectively and clearly with customers and employees of the organization. Must possess the ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Must possess the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast past environment. Minimum typing skill of 40 wpm with no more than 3 errors Beginner to Intermediate level in Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Internet Explorer. Education and or ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent GED certificate or six months experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
