Coachella Valley Lighthouse (CVL) is dedicated to meeting the learning behavior and development needs of children and families. We utilize evidence-based procedures in the implementation of applied behavior analysis with intensive interventions in the home to support skill building and improved acquisition of functional activities. We assess needs and develop programs with families to address the following skills behavior self-help social skills communication and leisure skills. We are an equal opportunity employer. Behavioral therapists are responsible for providing behavioral intervention services to clients with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities through the use of the principles of ABA. Services are provided to help individuals and families achieve goals outlined in the treatment plan and is in accordance with all applicable federal and state regulations policies and procedures. Responsibilities Works directly with client in their home or community implementing individualized treatment plan under the direction of the behavior analyst (BCBA) Follows CVLs policies and procedures Openly flexible and responsible in working with multiple children at one time when necessary Manage inappropriate behaviors that may occur Facilitate interactions with peers Keep client motivated to learn Toilet training may be required Accurately record information on the client s progress Represent CVL in a positive light while being courteous and professional with families organizations and clients Communicate confidentially and professionally with behavior analysts behavior therapists parents and others Become fluent in the understanding of the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) Work collaboratively with the program supervisor Travel to and or between client homes Qualifications Hold at least a BA in a related field (education psychology behavior analysis etc.) Upon hire complete background check Live Scan CPR First Aid TB test and submit proof of immunizations vaccinations Upon hire complete all requirements for becoming a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in accordance with the BACB guidelines Minimum of 2 years working with children experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders or developmental disabilities preferred Reliable transportation and valid drivers license If you d like to join our team please visit our website at www.cvlighthouse.com and click on Career Opportunities for directions on how to apply.
