UNIQUE NURSING OPPORTUNITY CLINIC RN LEAD CARE COORDINATOR No nights no weekends no holidays The mission of the San Jose Job Corps Health and Wellness Clinic is to provide direct primary care and medical and mental health case management to young people between the ages of 16 24 years old while motivating and inspiring them to work towards optimal wellness during their stay in our training program and in their future lives. Are you burnt out on hospital nursing Are you frustrated working in a clinic that is chronically understaffed and numbers driven Would you like to have a significant positive impact on the lives of young adults We are seeking a Lead RN who Is actively involved in holistic Wellness personally and or professionally and wants to be a role model and mentor to our trainees Is passionate about helping young people understand the connection between Wellness and Employability. Has a basic understanding of the value of Holistic Integrative Medicine (i.e. nutrition exercise yoga stress reduction positive psychology mindfulness practices etc.) for achieving optimal health and well-being Employs motivational interviewing techniques and or health coaching with patients Has an optimistic outlook on life is open to new experiences and can shift gears as needed Enjoys working in a very upbeat positive but sometimes hectic environment. Is flexible a team player and has a manageable Ego. Is creative and interested in creating wellness activities and classes for our trainees Is tenacious in follow-through fierce in patient advocacy and has compassionate yet firm boundaries Must be proficient in clinical tasks as you would find in any primary care clinic venipuncture urine lab tests assessing and treating minor illnesses and injuries using established protocols sending referrals to off-center providers and working closely with the center physician to ensure compliance with medical care plans. The Lead RN also provides direction to the LVN staff. Duties would be divided between 1) clinical tasks direct patient care 2) managing and monitoring chronic health conditions and 3) Developing and delivering wellness education to students. You will be joining a strong cohesive supportive group of medical professionals who work as a team to deliver high quality care. You would need to be process-oriented detail-oriented have excellent charting and assessment skills and be able to work under minimal supervision. This position would be ideal for an experienced hospital-trained RN who is tired of shift work and would like to move to a clinic setting or an experienced RN who is re-entering the workforce. We will also consider a new-grad RN who has a strong background in wellness programming and or health coaching. We welcome high-energy happy and motivated people to apply.
