Fleet Manager

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES The position is responsible for coordinating the scheduled and unscheduled maintenance cleaning and customer service for 45 commuter vans to ensure the safe and economical usage of vehicles. Approx 30 hours per week time varies due to customer service requirements. ESSENTIAL TASKS (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar related or a logical assignment to the position.) Oversee and schedule the repair and maintenance Coordinate vehicle concerns and issues with FedVan General Manager Update productivity maintenance and operational reports spreadsheets. Plan develop and execute a vehicle and equipment replacement schedule. Negotiate and establish repair cost or parts pricing with commercial vendors. Maintain maintenance records in accordance with federal state and local laws policy or regulation inventory state inspection. Perform related work as required. Perform monthly inspections on all vehicles and get vehicles washed Ability to coordinate with customers for scheduled maintenance emergency maintenance and loaner use Implements and monitors a preventative maintenance program to assure cost effective maintenance and a scheduled maintenance program to provide maintenance by manufacturers specifications. Maintains a complete inventory system through recording of all expenditures and income of each vehicle maintenance equipment fuel repair parts supplies etc. Prioritization -- Understanding of what is the single most important task at any given moment. Ability to think on one s feet and make decisions quickly. Special Requirements -- Must possess a valid Driver s License and a motor vehicle. -- Must be available for 24 hours emergency service on occasion. Necessary Knowledge Skills and Abilities -- Knowledge of methods techniques and procedures involved in maintenance repairs and replacement. -- Ability to function and perform effectively on a semi-autonomous basis-- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a professional manner. Working knowledge of computers Intermediate to advanced level of Microsoft Excel. Ability to learn company specific software quickly TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED -- Personal computer including word processing spreadsheets and database software motor vehicle phone. PHYSICAL DEMANDS-- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. -- While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to wet and or hot conditions fumes toxic or caustic chemicals.
