HOURS Monday Friday 8 00am 5 00pm JOB SUMMARY Coordinates all administrative aspects of trainees enrolled in the Off Center and Advanced Career Training Programs e.g. coordination student living allowance transportation financial aid and scholarships etc. Demonstrates on-going commitment to preparing young people for the workforce by modeling mentoring and monitoring excellence in the Career Success Standards DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develops a program that will generate ACT OCT opportunities for trainees meets with college personnel to explore all possible avenues for placement. Reviews records to ascertain which trainees would benefit from college programs. Assists in the processing and maintenance of records of trainees in the Concurrent Training Program and prepares required reports on enrollments. Conducts tours of the Center for college personnel serves as a guest speaker on and off Center to promote the Concurrent Training Program. Assists trainees in qualifying for registering for and scheduling classes and other matters as needed for college or training institution enrollment. Participate on Industry and Advisory Councils to ensure trainees participate in relevant training. Monitor program elements to ensure compliance with applicable Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with external partners. Monitors trainee attendance progress and performance while enrolled in concurrent training. Conducts individual and group counseling sessions with assigned trainees regarding educational and personal development. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Bachelor s degree in work-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year work-related experience Preferred Experience with youth from disadvantaged backgrounds preferred General Information In order to perform the essential job functions of this position candidate must have regular attendance and ability to interact effectively with the public. Knowledge Required Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to trainees must possess a valid State driver s license familiarity with area colleges etc. knowledge of availability of financial aid and scholarships excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to inspire and motivate trainees.
