You would not only have a great and dedicated team to work with but you would also be eligible to take advantage of a comprehensive benefits plan which includes medical dental vision life insurance 401(k) legal tuition reimbursement paid holidays vacation and sick time.HOURS Full TimeJOB SUMMARY Responsible for coordinating the residential shifts and for overseeing the center s dormitory career preparation (orientation) programDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESHelps students adjust to center life and make necessary behavior changes that will help build social development skills and that will enhance their ability to obtain employment and maintain a career Plans organizes and supervises all dormitory career preparation activities (commencing with student arrivals on center and ending once the students transition into the career development period). Maintains a published schedule of all organized activities and ensures activities are carried out on a continuous basis Supervises all students to maintain a safe clean sanitary comfortable and orderly dormitory environment including all housekeeping chores in and around the dormitories Trains and supervises student leaders to assist newer students to adjust to center life and make necessary behavior changes that will help build social development skills and that will enhance their ability to obtain employment and maintain a career Meets all new arriving students and begins student career preparation period on center through formal and informal indoctrination lessons Facilitates small (5-25) student group formal and informal social skills employability skills and life skills training sessions with students in the career preparation and career development periods on center REQUIRED EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Minimum Associate of Arts Degree or equivalent combination of professional knowledge and experience in relevant field. One year experience working with at risk youth or a related field.Preferred Previous Job Corps experienceKnowledge Required Ability to obtain state driver s license. Excellent communication skills (oral and written). Knowledge of counseling techniques. Ability to relate to disadvantaged youth. Must obtain and maintain CPR First Aid certification.
