Service Technician

Job Title Service Technician Reports To Service Manager FLSA Status Non-Exempt Summary Responsible for performing retail and internal equipment repairs in a timely and efficient manner by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for properly and proficiently diagnosing necessary equipment repairs or replacements and carrying out same repairs or parts replacements. Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner to allow service clerk to properly account for all parts and labor used to complete repairs. Maintains a current set of all working tools needed to complete the required equipment repairs. Works to improve and expand your customer relations skills to provide the proper information to both retail and internal customers. Responsible for continuously improving knowledge and proficiencies independently and through training sessions. Assists in maintaining a clean and well organized work area whether it is a service bay or field service vehicle. Assists with product demonstrations as needed. Must be able to travel nationally and internationally Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Language Ability Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public. Math Ability Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel and DIS SAP. Education Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Specialized Training Mechanical aptitude Certificates and Licenses Valid driver s license Valid Passport for International Travel Equipment Forklift Service truck Hoist crane Power tools Knowledge Skills and Other Abilities Professionalism Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
