Receiving Supervisor Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Lab

The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of daily activities in the Receiving section of the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL). The Receiving section must be adequately staffed during normal business hours including processing mail on Saturday mornings and some holidays. The primary role of the Receiving section is the receipt verification reconciliation identification and distribution of submissions to testing lab sections. Other responsibilities include maintaining current standard operative procedures (SOPs) for the Receiving section ensuring compliance with additional relevant SOPs throughout OADDL training new employees shipping Toxicology samples and purchasing Receiving-related supplies. A dependable courteous conscientious team player with attention to detail is required. This position supervises 2 technicians and up to 3 part-time student technicians. Required qualifications High School GED with 2 years experience in a health-related laboratory research or customer service field. Rabies vaccination or proof of adequate rabies titer required. Must have a valid Oklahoma Driver s License.Ability to interact professionally and positively with people. Ability to prioritize multi-task and delegate work effectively. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while successfully supervising 2 full-time and 1-3 part-time workers. Ability to effectively coordinate student schedules. Ability to utilize a word processor along with other standard office equipment. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful. Preferred qualifications Prior supervisory experience in a health-related laboratory research or customer service environment.
