Full Charge Bookkeeper Human Resources Assistant

Full Charge Bookkeeper Human Resources Assistant to support Operations of locally based international engineering consulting company by maintaining records bookkeeping human resource functions and completing special projects as needed. Reports to company Treasurer. Responsibilities Include Bookkeeping Accounts payable accounts receivable bank reconciliations petty cash expense reports journal entries invoicing job costing month year-end tasks budget track and report fixed assets. Payroll Process bi-weekly payroll using QuickBooks summarize timesheets and track paid time off. Remit 401(k) and Section 125 contributions each pay period. Financial Reporting Prepare reports on a weekly monthly and as needed basis. Taxes File payroll taxes including 941 workers compensation and unemployment. Issue forms 1099 1096 and W-2 W-3.Remit State and City B& O sales and use tax. Prepare year-end tax data for CPA. Commercial Insurance Initiate renewals complete applications assist with insurance audits. Human Resources Coordinate all new hire termination documentation maintain employee files. Employee Benefits Administer all employee benefits including but not limited to medical dental vision retirement section 125 and life and disability. Communicate with benefit plan brokers providers vendors TPA and consultants for services premiums and plan administration. Support annual renewal process including preparing renewal options for management review. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including ERISA PPACA COBRA notifications HIPAA certifications distribution of annual reporting and notifications for the health & welfare plans. Retirement Plan Administration 401(k) plan enrollment and terminations change reporting distributions and compliance. Manage the collection of plan and participant information to support annual plan year audits support and manage external audit firm investment advisor and plan record-keeper. Provide support and communication to plan trustees and participants. Office Responsible for day to day office operation such as phones ordering supplies maintaining office equipment and mail distribution. Skills Superior Analytical and Reporting skills Strong Attention to Detail Clear communication skills written and verbal Able to handle confidential information Excellent follow-up and follow-through Familiar with federal state and local legal requirements Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks Excel and Word 5 Years Minimum of Bookkeeper Experience Bachelor s degree preferred Salary DOE
