Live-in CompanionAsst.

I m seeking a live-in companion in exchange for a private bedroom room and bath in my home. I envision a pleasant mature woman who through no fault of her own is living on a limited income. I also have a limited income but own a nice townhouse on Cottonwood Creek. There is not a set schedule and the assistance would vary throughout the day. You will have plenty of time for yourself. We ll have to work together so both our needs are met. You would pay for your own food and personal items and expenses. I will pay for utilities including Wi-Fi and DISH services (except for Pay-Per-View services your own cell phone and use of my land line for long distance calls). I would have to be reimbursed if you chose to use those services. There is a T.V. in the bedroom. General description I am a seventy year old female. I ve had Parkinson s disease for twenty-two years. I take medications for this movement disorder and the results fluctuate throughout the day. Sometimes I can do everything other times I can do very little. Those are the times I will especially need your assistance. Also I wear a Life Alert monitor in case of an emergency. I can get up and down the stairs with no trouble however I need help carrying items up and down. I sometimes use a walker and sometimes use a Jazzy (an electric wheelchair). I have a wheelchair van with a ramp for easy loading and unloading. I have a small friendly Maltese dog named Zip. I enjoy a good laugh pleasant people going to free concerts in the park doing crossword puzzles playing Scrabble reading and watching movies. Things I don t need help with getting my medications showering grooming getting dressed using the telephone. I frequently use the computer (but it sure would be helpful if you can type better than me ). Things I need help with 1. Transportation-Drive to appointments (i.e. doctor s visits vet groomer hair salon etc.) go to the store attend events etc. At times I may not choose to go along to stores or appointments. 2. Personal assistance- I often need to have things brought to me since I can t get them easily myself. I may need help moving from one place to another especially when the medication is not working well. Things I often need help with getting settled in bed getting to and from the restroom refilling my ice water glass making hot tea answering the door letting Zip in and out. 3. Food preparation I eat small amounts of food with little variation. Protein interferes with my medications so I eat almost none. My diet is mostly fruit vegetables grains and sweets. 4. Housekeeping Light house cleaning on a regular basis as you would do in your own home such as keeping counters wiped off sinks toilets cleaned sheets changed weekly light dusting vacuuming steaming tile floor etc. as needed. Also taking the trash to the dumpster getting the mail carrying shopping bags into the house and putting away items. Order and cleanliness are a priority for me. I prefer that everything be put away as it is used. I will hire a housecleaning service to do the deep cleaning monthly. 5. Outside Watering my plants and blowing off the back patio walkway and front porch. 6. Zip I ll take care of him for the most part. He needs to be let in and out of the back door several times a day. He gets his food and water in the A.M. and P.M. Occasionally you ll help with that. He s trained to use puppy pads in lieu of going outside at times. I keep those on a small rug in my bedroom and can almost always take care of changing them myself.
