Fire Service Training Coordinator

Coordinates state wide program delivery of emergency responder courses. Maintains an effective relationship with the fire service community and allied professionals must be able to attend county meetings throughout the state ensures quality of field instructors establishes business activity plan for program sections that addresses strategic planning initiatives. Responsible for planning and delivering statewide programs for rural areas within the state. Works with other coordinators and management staff to enhance our instructor core and build instructor resources for the state of Oklahoma. Due to communication expectations of the position the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent will be provided additional compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device or a University cellular device. Position requires frequent weekend and overnight travel. Noise from fire apparatus training props and equipment used for training. Exposure to environmental elements (rain wind heat cold) occurs through the necessity to conduct training classes outside. Required qualifications High School GED. A minimum of 10 years fire service supervisory experience. Proven budgeting experience. Proven implementation of a statewide program related to the fire service. IFSAC Accredited Instructor I and II Certification. Demonstrated professional skills to coordinate a comprehensive statewide fire service training educational system. The ability to budget and prioritize courses. Preferred qualifications Bachelor degree in Adult Education or Fire Service Related. A minimum of 15 years fire service supervisory experience. Grant writing experience with successful results. Proven budgeting experience. Proven implementation of a statewide program related to the fire service. IFSAC Accredited Instructor I and II certification. Valid Drivers License. Demonstrated expertise in the principles theories and practical application of training and adult education methodologies including needs assessment course development and instructor training.
