A GEORGIA (IN)JUSTICE

VISIT LEONTYNESCOTT.COM I wrote this book while incarcerated. I started keeping a journal the 1st day I arrived at the jail February 25 2013 until I left the prison January 8 2014 10 months of my life in an environment that I never expected to be in and to this day do not feel that I should have been in. This book is a candid real-life look at life in a Georgia prison and the system that put me there. While some who read this book will criticize most will be compelled to look a little deeper than the surface and take an interest into what is happening to incarcerated individuals in this State as well as the system who decides our fate. While the percentage of wrongly convicted and incarcerated individuals continues to rise there is just as large a number of individuals forced to take plea agreements because they cannot afford to take a chance on this justice system. Some states don t even offer plea agreements for that very reason. Not to mention plea agreements give prosecutors a better opportunity to pad their conviction rates while many people are sentenced with a punishment that doesn t fit the crime or even worse are left to plead guilty for something they did not do for fear of spending even more time in prison.
