Assistant Controller (1967)

Seldin Company is a nationally diversified full-service commercial real estate multi-family and development organization. Due to our continual growth we are looking for a Assistant Controller in our Corporate office in Omaha NE. The Assistant Controller is responsible for financial accounting and reporting for real estate owned by Seldin Company. Analyzes financial information obtains variance explanations and prepare summary reports. Assist the Controller in completing month end and year end reports budgets and complying with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Essential Functions 1) Provide accurate and timely financial reporting. 2) Provide financial information to Asset Management Team. 3) Prepare documentation to support internal and external audits. 4) Assist with coordination of audit requests and assist with financial reports to be audited. 5) Work with Asset Management Team on forecasts budgets and other reporting. 6) Responsible for weekly and biweekly payroll import into financial software. 7) Assist in quarterly and year end reviews of property operations to ensure accounting in accordance with company policies and procedures as well as GAAP. 8) Assist in preparation of annual company budgets and quarterly forecasts. 9) Provides accounting guidance to accounting team and other departments to facilitate accurate and timely reporting. 10) Provide support to Controller and CFO as needed. Education Licenses or Certificates Required A Bachelor s degree from a four-year college or university or three years relevant work experience required. MBA and or CPA preferred. Communication Skills Required Excellent verbal communication skills organization skills attention to detail with high degree of accuracy and the ability to work independently and exercise judgment are essential. Experience Required Two to three years relevant work experience and training in accounting or finance. Skills The following attributes are desirable for the job success knowledge and principles of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) detail oriented to review financial statements and provide feedback. A high level of accountability accuracy of financial information and the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Requires strong communication skills written and verbal and interpersonal skills.
