Our busy Pulmonary and Sleep Disorder medical office located in Novi is looking for a hard-working full time medical assistant. The medical assistant will be responsible in performing clinical and office duties that assist in the delivery of effective patient care and demonstrate knowledge of the medical practice as it relates to pulmonary and sleep disorders. Responsiblities Takes medical history measures vital signs and records information in the electronic medical record Performs clinical duties including Pulmonary function testing walking pulse oximeters CPAP mask fittings assist physician during examinations instruct in patient use of home sleep studies calling in pharmacy prescriptions scheduling patients for diagnostic testing or bronchoscopy procedures explaining medical procedures to patients Office duties include answering phone calls copying filing and faxing handling correspondence scheduling appointments scanning into EMR familiar with handling insurance and billing functions inventories and orders clinical supplies Requirements Completion of a Medical Assistant Patient Care Technician or Nursing Assistant program.. Equivalent experience and or education may be substituted for education requirement. Knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures People skills to handle different personalities and personal situations Multi-tasking abilities Dependable transportation BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required upon hiring Desired Six (6) months experience as a Medical Assistant Experience in pulmonary and sleep disorders is desired but not necessary
