Welding Instructor

POSITION GOALS Provide both classroom and lab instruction to adult non-credit Welding Technology students utilizing an approved training curriculum and materials. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods. A minimum of two years teaching experience. A minimum of three years experience as a welder and metal fabrication in industrial construction and or maintenance welding. Must be proficient in welding blueprint reading skills. Must be proficient in Mig Tig Stick Oxyfuel Welding and Cutting welding processes in all positions. Must be proficient in welding mild steel aluminum and stainless steel metals. Current or past welding certification qualification from AWS API military or similar. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Plan prepare and deliver approved curriculum on a daily basis. Plan and organize instructional materials supply inventories tools equipment. Evaluate and assist in the resolution of student concerns. Prepare lesson plans. Track student grades and attendance. Lead inspire motivate and advise students to actively participate in all aspects of their educational process. Maintain expertise in the subject area. Provide regular accurate and timely feedback to students and the school concerning academics behavior attendance etc. Instructors should enjoy working with people to help develop them into quality introductory level welders. Instructors provide assessment of students through applicable monitoring and reporting processes. Welding instructors ensure adherence to all safety standards and practices including oversight care and maintenance of facilities equipment and materials. SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS This is a temporary part-time ten-month non-affiliated position. The Welding program runs from September through June Monday through Thursday from 6pm to 10pm. This position requires constant mobility throughout the school. Employee must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
