GEM Engineering Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Department Manager for our office in Louisville KY. CMT services include structural Special Inspections and construction materials quality control testing monitoring of concrete soil masonry steel fireproofing framing anchors etc. Working with a team of geotechnical engineers project managers construction materials testing Special Inspections technicians and administrative staff the person selected for this position will be responsible for Scheduling field and laboratory services Field and laboratory report review Proposal preparation and review Mentoring managing junior and senior CMT and laboratory staff Developing and maintaining new and existing client relations GEM offers an excellent salary and comprehensive benefits package which includes medical dental vision disability life 401k with company match paid time off and much more Desired Skills & Experience The successful candidate should have the following skills Knowledge of construction including site preparation foundation systems floor and walls systems structural systems etc. Proficiency in oral and written communication and strong project business development and personnel management skills. Experience in managing complex projects. Experience with profit loss responsibilities. Positive work attitude and ability to work efficiently when managing multiple tasks.
