Research study recruiting participants with depression who are a

Are you feeling depressed or down most of the day almost every day Are any of these things also true for you Have diabetes Overweight A smoker Have high blood pressure Are concerned about your risk for cardiovascular heart disease Are you also not taking any antidepressant medication If so you may be eligible to receive free therapy for your depression as part of a research study conducted by Dr. Matthew Whited of the ECU psychology department. We are seeking adults with depression who are not currently taking antidepressant medication and who are concerned about their risk for cardiovascular or heart disease. Eligible participants will receive depression treatment for 12 weeks by attending therapy sessions with a psychologist. This treatment will guide participants to make changes in their daily life that will improve the way they feel. This is not an experimental treatment. This treatment is proven to be effective for most people. Our goal is to determine the effect of depression treatment on cardiovascular health.
