IT Strategist

Summary Objective The Technology Strategist will develop an understanding of RA-LIN s mission culture goals and needs and advise on appropriate technology solutions strategies services and resources. Applicants should have a unique blend of technology knowledge communication skills and business acumen. Critical success factors include the ability to manage technical projects translate complex business requirements into technical realities collaborate within and amongst technical and functional teams plan for future technology needs and to develop relevant sustainable solutions approaches and strategies that will benefit the company. The Technology Strategist s role is to ensure the streamlined operation of IT in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The Technology Strategist will plan coordinate direct and design IT-related activities of the organization. The Technology Strategist will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify recommend develop implement and support technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. The Technology Strategist will also define and implement IT policies procedures and best practices. Essential Functions Develop a strategic vision and roadmap for the organization to identify and prioritize business process solutions. Design implement and facilitate a process for solution requests analysis prioritization release cycle and implementation. Technology Strategist will be called upon to participate in professional organizations and their associates meetings. Responsible for analyzing and translating business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve business objectives. Review current technology solutions and make recommendations based on fit with the organization s strategic vision. Coordinate and oversee vendor management and negotiate solutions with end-users. Work as an IT Strategist defining business unit requirements and translating those into functional specifications. Manage projects and analyze data and work in an organized and logical manner. Work with Departmental Managers to resource projects and manage the communication across all teams involved in implementation of solutions. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines honoring schedules coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner and demonstrate respect for others. All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and or targets established. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of enterprise technologies like network storage security identity management cloud services etc. Project management business analysis conflict resolution and other resource management skills. Effective communication with co-workers peers and management through written and verbal communication is required. Ability to critically evaluate information from multiple sources reconcile conflicts decompose high-level information into details and abstract low-level information to a more general understanding. Ability to distinguish user requests from the underlying business needs and distinguish solution ideas from requirements. Work Environment Physical Demands Ability to work in an office environment including sitting in a chair for long periods working at a computer keyboard and viewing work on a monitor and communicating via phone in-person conversations and emails with co-workers clients vendors etc. Performance of the duties will occasionally require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs passenger use of construction personnel hoists ability to climb ladders in areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls sit speak and hear stand kneel or crouch. Employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds. Position Type Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8 00 a.m. to 5 00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day although occasional travel is required for meetings trainings and conferences location may vary and may require overnight stays. Qualifications Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Industry Certifications in software systems and network or project management disciplines preferred. Experience with programming and coding is a plus but not required.
