Live-in Life Skills Coach

The Live-In Life Skills Coach provides quality active supports care and supervision necessary to help individuals with developmental disabilities realize their full potential while living in a residential home of The Arc of Anchorage. The Life Skills Coach resides in the home with the individuals similar to a normal family like setting. The Live in Life Skills Coach is responsible for assisting individuals in pursuing their personal dreams and goals related to community activities social interactions essential life skills and personal hygiene tasks. The Life Skills Coach ensures the health safety and well-being of each individual in the home. Additionally the Life Skills Coach ensures that the homes are well maintained and cared for. The Life Skills Coach also provides transportation to the individual residents to various outings appointments or work. This position may work independently and maintains close contact with the assigned supervisor and the assigned team. The job atmosphere is based on the individuals needs. The worksite for this job will be located in a residential home of The Arc. The Live-In Life Skills Coach may work up to two three four or five (24 hour) days. Education and Experience Preferred Experience in social services and or direct support of individuals experiencing disabilities. Required Must be 18 years old high school diploma GED female with good boundaries who is able to motivate and be active with the residents of the home. Must be able to help with healthy lifestyle habits. Have continuous use of a vehicle valid driver s license required insurance coverage clean driving record and be able to pass a background check. Current TB vaccination health screening. Must maintain CPR First Aid and MANDT certification.
