Network Engineer

This position is responsible for the design installation and maintenance of OSU s network and telephone services. Additionally this position will analyze the status of current network systems and recommend changes to improve telecommunications services and security. Required to be in an on-call stand-by status for after hours and weekend emergencies on a rotating basis. Due to communication expectations of the position the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent s salary includes additional compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device. May also require occasional travel. Work is in both controlled and uncontrolled environmental areas. Normal dangers associated with work in mechanical areas and areas where remodeling or new construction are in progress. Minimum qualifications Bachelor degree and one year of enterprise network engineering experience. Preferred qualifications Degree in Computer Science Management of Information Systems Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and five years of enterprise network engineering experience. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP). Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA). Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA). Network . Experience with the design installation maintenance and analysis of enterprise data VoIP PBX and wireless network infrastructure. Proficiency in programming scripting Unix Linux administration Windows administration and VMWare. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and repetitive climbing of stairs and ladders.
