Social Media Coordinator

Oklahoma State University Athletics is seeking candidates for the position of Social Media Coordinator. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following help plan curate manage and post content in support of a departmental social media strategy. Skilled at creating content that increases interest and engagement in OSU athletics. Strong understanding of social media best practices emerging platforms and of the target demographics use of a wide range of channels including Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube as well as blogs. Under the direction of the Director of Digital Marketing he she will help plan curate manage and post content in support of a departmental social media strategy. The Manager will work with staff students and administrators across the athletic department to engage fans media and prospective and current student athletes. He she will collaborate with others in Communications and Marketing to advise and identify social media opportunities that communicate the innovative vision and mission of the department. Skilled at creating content that increases interest and engagement in OSU athletics the Manager has a strong understanding of social media best practices emerging platforms and of the target demographics use of a wide range of channels including Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube as well as blogs. The Manager will also monitor posts generated throughout the department to ensure that messages and voice are consistent and effective across all platforms. The Manager will regularly evaluate and optimize use of all social media to support OSU Athletics strategic goals. Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. Nights and weekends as needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor s degree and a minimum of three years experience in publications news media project management or related field involving social media task projects. Demonstrated experience using a wide range of social media platforms professionally. Knowledge of HTML and Adobe Suite programs for web photo video and audio such as Photoshop Fireworks Premiere along with office applications Word and Excel and Google documents. Strong writing and editorial skills. Highly organized and able to manage multiple requests and college happenings (news announcements events) and deploy in a timely manner. In-depth knowledge of current social media platforms dashboards (like Hootsuite or Tweetdeck) and the metrics to base ROI to leverage OSU s social media channels.
