Interstate is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join their Finance Team. Candidates for this role should be self-motived have excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Summary As part of the finance team you will be creating financial models and performing analysis for internal customers. You will be responsible for supporting the business initiatives for the International Division by providing financial insight and expertise. The financial analyst will serve as the point of contact for the International Division and provide financial insight to assist with strategic decision-making. It s a fast-moving environment and requires a strong level of comfort with a dynamic pace. Responsibilities Audits vendor invoices for accuracy and works with Move Coordinator to ensure expenses are within acceptable levels Takes lead role for credit and collections of delinquent accounts Assumes full accountability for the accrual file to ensure all quotes are registered on time Creates and produces ad hoc reports and analysis Analyzes departmental financial statements Provides analytical explanation of actual to budget variances Contributes to the development of corporate and department strategic plans by providing financial plans and projections to ensure that the organization achieves its financial targets Assists management regarding appropriate corrective financial action in relation to their departments Assists with monthly closing processes including posting monthly journal entries analysis of financial statements and other procedures as required. Qualifications Must be customer service oriented have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Demonstrated communication customer service and analytical skills Understanding of profit and loss at both financial statement and transactional levels Advanced MS Excel skills Superior commitment to service both with internal clients and with external vendor relationships Strong problem solving skills and follow through Strong attention to detail Demonstrated history of integrity and professionalism Education and or Experience Bachelor s Degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required. Six months to 1 year related demonstrated experience.
