Office Director

The Office Director articulates the mission of CWS oversees program design and implementation ensures organizational compliance with grants and contracts manages effective delivery of services promotes the involvement of local congregations and community members in resettlement and represents CWS in interactions with the State Refugee Coordinator. The Office Director is responsible for the daily operations and services provided by CWS IRP through the office in Greensboro North Carolina providing services and oversight to all programs including but not limited to Reception & Placement Matching Grant and any other programs offered by CWS IRP. The Office Director will initially be responsible for all service delivery and operations of a single staff office. This position directly reports to the CWS IRP Regional Director for US Programs at CWS Corporate Center (CC) in New York. Essential Duties Develop annual operational plan for CWS IRP Greensboro office oversee the development of unit annual plans. Represent CWS in interactions with the State Refugee Coordinator and State Refugee Health Coordinator. Coordinate the resettlement of refugees within the Greensboro service area as well as the management of the various programs offered in house. Provide direct services as required. Oversee state-funded contracts and operations offered by CWS in the Greensboro service area. Oversee the hiring training support and supervision of staff. Work with staff volunteers and community stakeholders to ensure that refugees asylees and entrants reach the goals of self-sufficiency and adjustment to life in the U.S. through the provision of information services and referrals. Engage judicatories local faith communities and national communions in partnership to encourage refugee co-sponsorship and support of the various programs in the office. Assist refugees and entrants in building ethnic and cultural support structures by connecting individuals and promoting organization of ethnic community groups. Promote teamwork coordinate the workload of staff delegate responsibilities and hold staff accountable. Maintain timely and consistent communication with CWS CC. Perform an ongoing analysis of program needs in order to respond to the changing needs of refugees local communities and local and state officials and make recommendations to CWS CC. Develop fundraising plan submit proposals and cultivate other funding sources as deemed appropriate. Oversee annual budget development. Monitor funding received from CWS and other sources to ensure responsible fiscal administration of programs ensure consistent communication between programs and account staff. Oversee management of direct client assistance and other funds disbursed. Oversee the preparation of regular expense reports and reimbursement requests. Assist in the completion of programmatic and financial reports for funding sources as required. Conduct regular programmatic audits to ensure quality in service provision and fulfillment of documentation requirements. Participate in meetings on the national state and local levels. Participate in refugee community dialogues. Coordinate with CWS CC in responding to all media inquiries ensure appropriate messaging regarding refugee-related matters. Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Education Bachelor s degree or equivalent advanced degree in social work international relations or other relevant field preferred. Experience Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in program and financial planning and management required including one (1) year of direct supervisory experience. Previous work experience with refugee resettlement case management and direct social services required. Previous fundraising experience strongly preferred. Superior written and oral communication skills are a must. The successful applicant must have experience working in multi-cultural environment. Previous experience providing immigration legal services preferred but not required. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary as is the ability to work cooperatively with a wide range of organizations including other resettlement agencies and mutual assistance associations as well as local state and federal government agencies. The applicant must demonstrate creativity and initiative and must be able to handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously. Other Skills A high level of computer literacy is required with proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel Access and PowerPoint) as well as internet and email applications.
