Responsibilities include Specific Job Summary The Manager U.S. Field Sales Analysis will provide analytical and information support to the Sales organization in its efforts to measure performance and communicate results to stakeholders.The Manager will proactively monitor hotel and Area Sales Team performance conduct analysis of issues that arise and provide market-specific knowledge to support analysis efforts.The Manager will also be responsible for providing market-specific metrics and commentary to the Area Sales team and the Business Transformation team for use in owner decks quarterly market reviews and other ad hoc projects.The Manager has a dual reporting relationship to the VP s of Area Sales and the Sr. Manager of U.S. Field Sales Analysis on the Sales & Intermediary Analysis team. Expected Contributions Performs more complex quantitative and qualitative analysis for business processes and or projects. Often manages small projects business processes or parts of larger ones. Responds to solves and makes decisions on more complex non-routine business requests with limited to moderate risk. Responsible for own work and contributing to team department and or business results. May direct work of non-management staff. Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of business processes. providing training and technical guidance to less senior staff where appropriate and serving as point-of-contact for problem resolution. participating in setting department operating plans. recognizing and celebrating team successes. achieving results against budget within scope of responsibility. Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge. Performs other duties as appropriate. Specific Expected Contributions Compile quarterly results for market to be used in internal quarterly updates key quarterly owner updates and at major meetings (e.g. FAC meetings MINA meetings).Updates to include analysis of key performance metrics identification of key wins and identification of opportunities.Coordinate collection of information from all functional areas schedule and facilitate review sessions and distribute final review to all stakeholders. Provide analytical support to the Area Sales VP s regarding sales performance in preparation for stakeholder meetings (e.g. owner GM corporate etc.). Support development and maintenance of a database of participating properties included in the markets as well as relevant market statistics (e.g. number of sales areas number of associates number of accounts etc.).Ensure the list is up to date and distributed to key stakeholders as needed (e.g. goal setting process). Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders in markets and at MI headquarters Special projects as assigned including ad hoc requests for information and analysis relative to Area Sales Provide slides and data to the Business Transformation team regarding performance of market properties as needed for specific owner presentations. Specific Candidate Profile Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience and demonstrate leadership and relationship skills as follows Strong data analysis skills and experience is a must including querying and manipulation of large quantities of data using applications such as Access and Excel (advanced pivot tables complex IF-THEN logic modeling etc.) Expertise with Microsoft Office for data analysis memos documents and presentations Ability to articulate clearly and present complex issues to associates at all organizational levels Attention to detail when building and validating spreadsheets models and presentations Analytical approach to problem solving Customer-service orientation including evaluation validation of requests and prompt follow-up Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of an effective team Ability to utilize effective time management skills in order to meet deadlines Ability to balance stakeholder demands by prioritizing tasks and setting realistic expectations Ability to develop and maintain professional interpersonal relationships with all levels of corporate staff 5 years of experience in data analysis sales analysis marketing revenue management financial analysis or a related discipline Bachelor s degree required preferably in quantitative or hospitality-related discipline MBA or advanced degree a plus Experience with Marriott systems and sales organizations highly valued Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
