Job Code 183Title Service CoordinatorDate Posted 09 22 2014Job Type Full-TimeJob Location Lower Mainland British Columbia [BC] Job Description Title Service CoordinatorPosition Overview The Service Coordinator is responsible for the scheduling of the service technician team providing technical support to customers and internal staff sourcing and coordinating all the parts and equipment required for each job and achieving the required company metric s associated with this role.Responsibilities Customer care contact is a primary function Process administration in support of the document flow is important for costing inventory control as well as meeting the customer s requirements. An ability to work with costing sheets and schedules (for technician planning) is paramount. An ability to grow technically is also important as parts supplied in support of the service ( be it a quarterly or an annual) are essential. Some basic understanding of industrial products with prior experience could be a benefit. To coordinate and schedule service jobs for both shop and field technicians. Review customer requirements and determine priority status of requests. Assign jobs to service technicians. Source and purchase the necessary parts and equipment for each job. Prepare service quotes for equipment service. Develop a strong technical competency with respect to company s products. Provide technical support. Ensure that the organization s work alone policy is followed and that all work is planned to be performed in a safe manner and in accordance with HSE guidelines. Work with the sales team and management to further build on reputation as a knowledge based company that provides technically superior service and equipment. Work closely with the other departments within the branch to provide any required support. Participate in training programs as required. OTHER DUTIES INCLUDE Order parts supplies materials and inventory to ensure activities can proceed. Plan and prepare work schedules and services Identify benchmarks for reliability and safety Maintain and oversee invoices orders accounting and contractor work including writing ongoing work orders. Inspect sites and buildings to scope and plan new and ongoing maintenance work. Schedules maintenance workers assigning tasks and evaluating completion. Requirements A strong technical background with 5 years service experience. A trade designation or a technical designation(CET RET etc.). Strong leadership capabilities. Excellent organizational skills. Strong verbal and written skills. The ability to work independently with little supervision. Competent computer skills (MS Office suite of products). Team player.
