Amazing Antique 4-poster canopy bed

Approx 150 years old hand-carved copy of Austrian monarchy bed by Italian Renaissance carvers. Mahogany headboard and columns walnut hand-carved sides and canopy oak inner frame. Appraised over the last 30 years from 20 000 to 50 000. You won t find a bed like this again. Originally from estate on Esplanade Ave. in New Orleans. Story I was told by original owner that it was 450 years old and handcarved by Italian woodcarvers for the Austrian Monarchy. When I sent pictures to the Smithsonian they told me it would be falling apart if that were true but that it was in fact an EXACT hand-carved copy of a 450-year old handcarved Austrian Monarchy bed and it was approximately 150 years old. Center of headboard is a carved egg indicating this was probably a young lady s bed. Still strong in great condition. Very heavy. TLC over the years. Just shy of Queen size so would be stunning guest bedroom showpiece in the right house. Goes up 9 feet 8 inches. Very ornate.
