My client is well-established major bank situated in Toronto ON. They are looking for a Financial Risk Reporting Analyst (SQL VBA Cognos impromptu) This is a 4 month contract position with a very strong possibility of extension. Description - Part of corporate treasury - Key mandates manage risk (liquidity and funding risk) - Risk Reporting group supports data requirements for corporate treasury (sourcing data) - Quantitative risk management (manage risk for the balance sheet) - Pulling data from data warehouses - Generating and validating reports - Regulatory reports preparation Day to day - Reporting heavy - Project evaluating data from different data warehouses data mining and comparing across different sources data warehouses for the purposes of validating - Assist in regular reporting as part of the core job but primary focus would - Major asset - Understanding of personal & commercial finance products - mortgages GIC line of credits some derivatives - Comparing and analyzing data but NO modeling - supporting reporting needs - analyzing processes - preparing documentation - support for increased volumes.Top skills - FI experience help in understanding the products - Understanding of technical requirements but needs to have the finance background - Definitely looking for business finance candidates rather than really technical candidates - 7 years of experience in a related position - needs to be able to work independently and hit the ground running Note Not looking for someone who is very technical but wants someone who understands SQL Microsoft Access and MS Excel. - Some VBA code. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Support the Balance Sheet Management Group and the Liquidity & Funding Risk Management Group in meeting regulatory and other requirements by providing information as required. Perform data mining to fulfill information needs of the groups. Analyze current processes and prepare documentation. Support projects to improve process and system efficiency.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS a) Knowledge Undergraduate degree in Finance Computer Science or Economics 6-8 years of experience in a technology role with 3-5 years experience in a finance environment Excellent knowledge of Excel Access SQL VBA Cognos Impromptu Sound understanding of the Bank s retail and wholesale product offerings Sound understanding of financial market instruments including derivative products and pricing Solid understanding of interest rate risk and liquidity risk management Good knowledge of financial modeling Good Knowledge of customer behavior modeling Knowledge of QRM an asset Experience in working with multiple stakeholders across different organizational groups b) Skills Excellent organizational and analytical skills Strong project and process management skills Strong change management skills Strong technology and information system skills Please note that this is the most up to date version of job description available at this time During Client Interview you will receive additional information variance may apply When you have some time please register in our database (5 minute process) to be considered for future openings the link is available on our website at www.teamrecruiter.com in the Candidate section.
