One of our well established banking client is looking for an Operations Officer (with Trade Experience) Duration 1 year contract with a high possibility of extension Location Toronto ON Manager looking to complete in-person interviews over the holidays candidates must be available during this time. Main Duties Must Haves You will be confirming trades transactions within for. Exchange precious metals trades dept. Regulatory reporting on transactions You will be assisting with process improvements within dept. Outside of the box creative thinker Excellent communication as this is a client facing role You will be working within a preformatted report however exposure to Excel is key Experienced in fixed income deposits & payments foreign exchange and or equities. Process Improvement Experience Summary The main function of the Operations Officer is reporting transactions to the appropriate Regulatory body using various methods of confirmation methods including phone fax swift and email . with our clients and internal groups to ensure a high level of service is provided on an ongoing basis Job Responsibilities Prepare confirmation templates by adding required trade confirmations details and timely submission to regulatory body Processes counterparty information by reviewing confirmation details and capturing counterparty USI details resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the team leader for resolution. Closely monitor all queues within the various systems ensuring the confirmations are correctly executed and reported within the prescribe time. Verifies entered counterparty data by reviewing correcting deleting or reentering data combining data from multiple systems when information is incomplete or incorrect. Maintains operations by following policies and procedures reporting needed changes. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Ensure Regulatory and Audit guidelines are being met and adhered to Assist with the confirmation process for FX FO Options and Precious Metals transaction details using various methods including SWIFT phone fax email and several external matching platforms. Ensure all trades are accurately confirmed within 24 hours in compliance with the Bank s Confirmation Policy and Procedures and all Service Level Agreements. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and on timely basis. Provide a high level of customer service to our clients acting as a point of contact for all customer enquiries. Develop and maintain sound working relationships Skills Verbal and written communication skills attention to detail and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage one s time. Ability to accurately document and record customer client information. Previous experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Completion of a speed and accuracy data entry test (May be required). Education Experience High school diploma or GED required. 1-2 years related experience required.
