SHAG is the largest operator of affordable rental apartment communities for seniors in Washington with existing communities in 28 locations in the Puget Sound Region with seven more under development. The Company serves as the property management agent for each of the affordable rental apartment communities for seniors operated by SHAG. In addition to the portfolio of affordable rental apartment communities for seniors jointly operated and managed by SHAG and the Company the Company also manages income-restricted but non-age restricted affordable rental apartment communities with existing communities in 2 locations in the Puget Sound Region and one more under development. Independent Living Inc. is seeking a full-time (40 hours per week M-F) Dishwasher. The Dishwasher reports directly to the Food Services Manager and is responsible for cleaning dishes light prep work and maintaining a clean working environment. The Dishwasher washes dries and stores dishes glasses and utensils. The Dishwasher assists with cleaning the kitchen after meals and performs certain dining room duties depending on facility staffing. Note Workweek may include weekends and or split shifts and overtime depending upon urgency need and company policies and procedures. All overtime must be approved by Management. Essential Functions Acquires and maintains food handlers permit Follows posted work schedule Demonstrates knowledge of proper cleaning methods of dining services May bus dining room tables (depending on facility staffing) May clean dining room tables and chairs (depending on facility staffing) May vacuum dining room after meals (depending on facility staffing) May set tables for next meal (depending on facility staffing) Serves as a role model for other employees by displaying a responsible cooperative positive attitude Demonstrates ability to keep dish area clean and properly organized Demonstrates correct preparation of simple prep work Demonstrates knowledge of all kitchen and dining room equipment Assist with meal service under supervisor Assures that all dishes are put away properly Assist in kitchen when necessary Assist in keeping the kitchen clean and organized. All chemicals are stored appropriately and sanitation standards are observed Attends all dining services meetings All other applicable duties as assigned. General Dishwasher Personnel Policies Dishwasher employees are expected to conduct themselves in a courteous fashion at all times whether interacting with residents or other employees. Dishwasher employees are required to present a neat and clean appearance when reporting to work. Dishwasher employees are responsible for immediately reporting any job-related injuries and accidents to their supervisor. Dishwasher employees are to adhere to the dress appearance code of the Company. The consumption of alcoholic beverages or use of illegal drugs during working hours or during lunch is sufficient cause for immediate termination. Equipment that is damaged or lost by negligent employees may be charged to the associate responsible for it at the determination of management. Dishwasher employees are responsible to know and understand landlord and tenant laws as it pertains to their position and refrain from any illegal discrimination practices. Dishwashers must follow all safety procedures including wearing prescribed safety and personal protective equipment and notify Manager of safety hazards. Dishwashers must be able to meet deadlines and quality requirements. Must have reliable transportation.
