Our client is well established consulting company seeking Intermediate Accounting Analyst w-Pensions Experience Location Toronto ON Duration 2 Months contract with strong possibility of extension NOTE Applicant will be expected to work overtime on evenings and weekends when required. Fiscal year end. Must be willing to work beyond the standard 37.5 hours per week. A CPA CA CMA or CGA with strong preference for AccPacc and financial statement reporting. We would need the person to be a hands on independent worker that is familiar with investment accounting pensions. The person would actually be booking journal entries in an automated environment preparing reports and financial statements for 3 companies. There will be long hours and likely weekend work as well.Manager s Notes Group info - Chief Accountant s Group- Focus legal entity reporting pure accounting & financial statement reporting Day to day - Journal entries reports reconciliations- Preparing financial statements - this is a primary function of the role. - Journal entry accounting - cash entries - manual. - Core accounting functions- Automation - importing documents from CIBC Melon - importing into spreadsheets verifying calculations and uploading into AccPac.Must Haves 1.) Advanced level excel - macros pivot tables v-lookup this is mandatory candidates who do convey this skill set will not be considered. 2.) AccPac experience - this is the critical focus 3.) Prior investment accounting experienceAsset - Prior experience in pension funds an asset but not required------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- Role mandate Accountable for ensuring the monthly financial reports for both the bank s defined benefit pension plan (the PFS) and a beneficiary trust are prepared accurately and on schedule. Maintain the integrity of the GL system software and balances. Ensure that the cash management functions for both the PFS and the trust are effectively performed on a day-to-day basis to meet financial obligations to investment managers and other financial service providers.Accountabilities 1. Financial Statements preparation and GL analyses. Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements lead sheets audit schedules and bank reconciliations for both PFS and the trust. Maintain all GL accounts throughout year and prepare schedules and financial information for notes to financial statements at year end. Strong knowledge of ACCPAC and Excel is required for the above tasks.2. Cash Management and Invoice Payments. Ensure funding of the regular and executive pension plans reconcile banking transactions and inter-company transfers ensure that sufficient cash balances are available review invoices and make payment to various service providers.3. Annual budget and regulatory filings. Prepare the calculations for the completion of the PFS annual business plan and any budget revisions track expenses relative to plan on a monthly basis. Prepare information for regulatory filings and the trust s tax liabilities.4. Audit. Interact with internal and external auditors maintain auditable records and ensure that all files and financial entries are complete up to date and satisfy all audit requirements.
