My client is a well-established Major Bank situated in Scarborough ON. They are looking for Security Specialist Symantec Malware Endpoint Exp. This is a 6 Month contract position with a strong possibility of an extension. Background The Technology Controls team is responsible for providing enterprise level security tool and cryptography services for the bank. These services generally include developing technical requirements design build and deploy operational transitioning 3rd level support and product life cycle management. MUST HAVES Independent worker takes initiatives doesn t need hand any holding superior communication and interpersonal skills. Works well without supervision and open to work on the demands of the role as there are times when deployments happen after the regular business hours. 5 years of experience as an IT Security Analyst supporting Windows based applications in a multi-tiered environment. 5 years working with SEP11 12 (Symantec s Security Endpoint Protection ) or similar Malware tools Knowledge of IT Security principles SOX and PCI regulations Knowledge of ITIL principles as they relate to Change Control and Problem Management processes. Excellent communication skills Excellent analytical skills required to troubleshoot and diagnose issues Ability to multi-task and work under pressure Self-motivated and ability to take initiative Provide 7x24 on call support as needed. NICE TO HAVES CISSP CISM or SABSA (SCF) designation would be an asset. Scripting or programming skills would be an asset The Security Specialist s role is to provide vision and leadership for developing and supporting security initiatives. The Security Specialist directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT system business operation and facility defenses against security breaches and vulnerability issues. This individual is also responsible for auditing existing systems while directing the administration of security policies activities and standards. Direct and apply control systems to prevent error abuse fraud etc. Take full responsibility for minimizing disaster threat effects and for recovery. Raise awareness of all levels of the organization regarding security practices. Aligns the security policy with policies and plans of the organization. Constantly review procedures for security failings and disaster recovery. Take leading role in originating maintaining security policies and strategies. Take leading part to ensure compliance with security plans standards.
