Sagem Avionics is a U.S. based subsidiary of the Safran Group. The company designs produces and supports a product line that includes helicopter autopilots flight control components illuminated Cockpit Control Panel & Dimming Control Avionics Illuminated Pushbutton Switches and Flight Data Recording and Analysis and Part 145 service center for Sagem Avionics Sagem Defense Security and other Safran divisions. Sagem Avionics facility located in Costa Mesa California has an opening for a Contracts Specialist. This position will be responsible for oversight of both Grand Prairie TX and Costa Mesa CA contract needs. The primary functions of this position are to - Provide independent analysis of business contract issues to support decision making. - Lead process improvements within the sales and customer support organization understand and recommend changes to procedures to improve management of legal risks and liabilities. - Facilitate internal review of agreements and support the commercial execution of contracts. - Interface with key customers proactively insuring contractual compliance and performance - Ensure compliance with Sagem Avionics LLC Sagem and Safran legal processes and procedures - Ensure compliance with UCC Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Essential functions of this position include but are not limited to - Participating in customer proposals for new business including terms and conditions negotiations. - Conducting negotiations of agreements & contracts within delegated authority. - Interfacing with Safran USA and Sagem Defense Securite legal counsel in the context of major negotiations. - Leading and managing contract Change Management process. - Providing guidance in the management mitigation of customer claims and disputes. - Facilitating initial customer order contract review to ensure the contract reflects Sagem Avionics commitments to the customer and covers subject matter as proposed and negotiated. - Auditing implementation of contracts within the organization - Maintaining custody of all contractual documents to protect the company legally and maintain ISO9000 and AS9100 requirements. - Being a business partner with Program Management in executing and managing contracts. - Actively maintaining a high level of knowledge of FAR DFARs UCC and related regulatory and industry contract related matters. Postion Criteria Experience managing contracts with 1) components subsystems systems scope of responsibility 2) Moderate customer business risk 3) Moderate to high NRE budgets and 4) High Revenue Growth Program value Must be capable of leading effectively in diverse cultural situations with our global aerospace customers and team members Job Requirements Basic Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Business from an accredited institution - Minimum 5 years of contracts experience - This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
