SUMMARY Management Business Solutions (MBS) is seeking an Information Systems Specialist for a manufacturing client in the Grand Rapids MI area to provide evaluation procurement implementation training and support of hardware and software on personal computers servers and the underlying network infrastructure and telecommunications systems. RESPONSIBILITIES Support various information technology project in the production facility working with users to determine needs evaluate alternatives develop specifications provide recommendations implement solutions and provide long-term support Evaluate user training needs and conduct both formal and informal training as appropriate to maximize user effectiveness with hardware and software Select design implement and support effective microcomputer server and network infrastructure solutions that produce information to assist users in their job functions Acquire install maintain and provide ongoing support and training in use of desktop laptop PCs client operating systems PC peripherals office productivity software and other tools including e-mail Internet access iSeries Client Access SAP Adobe Flex and CIM Oracle Design acquire implement and maintain server-based solutions and or network infrastructure to maximize effectiveness of shared computing resources Ensure that standard operating procedures are followed in the areas of license compliance backups virus protection and security Administer support and provide training on telecommunications systems including telephone switch voice mail fax cell phones pagers and call accounting software Troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner and provide emergency support on a 24x7 basis QUALIFICATIONS Associate s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field Knowledge of database management systems thin client applications servers network management commonly installed client software and other mainstream PC software used in a fast-paced office and manufacturing environment Knowledge of PC hardware printers monitors and scanners Knowledge of server backup and restore methodologies Knowledge of plant controls systems including PLCs and industrial automation software such as Wonderware Knowledge of computer virus prevention and extraction tactics MANAGEMENT BUSINESS SOLUTIONS IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
