Gutenberg Bible Display

The Gutenberg Bible Display is simular to that at UT-Austin Texas. The Bible is a facsimile circa 1960 of a Gutenberg Bible now in New York. The Bible presents in the customery two volumes with the text being embellished by illuminations of a scribe. The books are full size 18 X 12 X 3 1 2 each with heavy leather binding. The base is of hard wood with a Miter motif molding encasing the sides. The step top is covered in rich cardinal red fabric and an optional Plexiglass bible stand included. A molded 1 4 heavy plexiglass cover slides down smoothly over the base secured by brass screws from the sides. A prominate brass plaque engraved with Gutenberg Bible is included. Makes for an impressive permanent display and center piece from a cathedral to a rare books library. As books find their way into electronic media and onto virtual bookshelves a real book such as this only increases its worth in every way.
