QUALITY LAB TECH II Position Overview Conducts variety of electronic mechanical and environmental tests on Grayhill products to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reads test schedule test requests production and performance specifications wiring diagrams and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used. Plans and performs product reliability testing. Tests functional performance of systems subassemblies and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change vibration pressure and humidity. Calibrates test instruments according to specifications. Monitors power at units and monitors output as needed. Prepares reports comparing test results with specifications and standards. Operates x-ray equipment to determine root cause of failure. Confers with engineers technicians production personnel and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems. Verifies functionality of product during testing by using power supplies multimeters oscilloscopes and other test equipment. Verifies test setup calibration prior to beginning all tests. Interprets government UL CSA TUV CE customer and Grayhill product and test specifications as applicable to Grayhill and other products. Maintains Corporate Quality s EMAINT calibration and maintenance software system. Coordinates and performs calibration and maintenance activities working with outside vendors as needed. Assist Quality Engineers with outside testing. Inspect Grayhill products in accordance with final audit procedures as necessary. Job Requirements Associates Degree or equivalent 2 year degree from college or technical school OR 4 years work experience in related field working as a lab technician (in lieu of 2 year degree) 2 years work experience working in a test lab and familiarity with standard test equipment which may include micrometers o-meters thermal chambers vibration tables etc Excellent organizational and record keeping skills required.
