Research Analyst

The Indiana Kentucky Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters is looking for a Research Analyst - This person will work to further the orgainizing bargaining and public policy objectives of the Carpenters Union. The Research Analyst will work with the IKORCC field representatives to secure greater power and good working conditions for the 32 000 professional tradespeople belonging to 43 locals in Indiana Kentucky Ohio parts of West Virginia and Tennessee. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum two years of full-time Research Analysis experience strategic campaign experience or policy analysis experience. Demonstrated commitment to building the industrial and community based power of working people. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute investigative research including research into operations of industry sectors individual companies and regulatory policy bodies. Demonstrated ability to convert research findings into actionable campaign strategies and tactics. Familiarity with finance business construction project management and or planning development concepts. Able to conduct on-going in-depth research on political candidates and legislative issues. Competency tracking and analyzing legislation and otherwise monitoring state and local government actions. Proficiency with spreadsheets database design and presentation software preferred. Excellent writing communication and presentation skills. Ability to produce website content and supervise website design. Ability to find and develop relevant content and effectively use social media. REQUIREMENTS Readiness to exercise individual initiative while working within a chain of command. Ability to juggle multiple projects tight deadlines and occasionally irregular hours. Travel required (valid driver s license required) Sample writing required.
