We are now accepting applications for Security Officers in the Suffolk VA area. Summary of essential job functions duties (not an exhaustive list) Must adhere to all site specific post order requirements Perform security foot patrols Enforce badge procedures Responds to alarms emergency codes and security related incidents decides what actions to take based on the situation facts known and position limitations Protects property from theft defacement embezzlement sabotage fire and accidents Investigates and reports on accidents incidents suspicious activities safety and fire hazards and other security related situations to supervisor for correction or follow-up actions maintains contact with ODS supervisory team Provides needed assistance to customers employees visitors and or the client that are in line with the department s procedures Must have availability to work weekends Minimum requirements and Special Skills Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and the public to understand and follow standard operating procedures to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance to write and investigate required reports to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures to maintain a valid security license. Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable state law. Must be able to pass any state required training or other qualifications for licensing. Good working knowledge of security operations safety practices in a business environment and enforcement of procedures. Must be able to provide upon conditional job offer a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated if prior military.
