JOB SUMMARY Working in a startup company that is looking for enthusiastic individuals to help establish and innovate in the new industry of cannabis infused edibles. This position is responsible for packaging of panned bakery products & chocolate bars of every flavor and format to the quality specifications provided by the Packaging Supervisor and or Shift Lead. This person is responsible for packaging a high-quality product and will work extensively with packaging equipment and materials. Additionally this person is responsible for trouble-shooting to resolve problems with equipment work flow and packing protocols with the appropriate team members shift lead or direct supervisor. Additional or different functions may be assigned to the position periodically as needed such as sanitation creating and assessing inventory returning inventory to the warehouse assembling orders and preparing shipments. RECEIVES DIRECTION FROM Functional direction is provided from the Packaging Supervisor and or Packaging Manager. At times direction can also come from the Shift Lead. JOB DUTIES Executes the packaging of a quality product with the correct packing protocols and weights as assigned by the production supervisor or production manager. Executes the assigned tasks as efficiently as possible while ensuring quality and safety principles are applied. Responsible for packaging station sanitation and clean up both during and before the close of shift. Materials that will not be used the next day should be returned to inventory in the appropriate container. Monitors equipment to ensure good working order and to report any problems to management or maintenance as needed. Monitors operations on shift to ensure that Quality Assurance Sanitation and Safety standards are consistently met. Communicates and implements company policies and procedures on assigned time schedule. Makes recommendations and suggestions to management regarding improvements of efficiencies production quality work flow etc. as observed. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES KNOWLEDGE OF Food and Baked Goods Packaging Packaging Equipment and Processes Product characteristics and processing procedures Quality Assurance principles. Shipping procedures. Company policies on Safety Sanitation product protection and personnel-related procedures as applicable. SKILLS ABILITIES Ability to plan organize and coordinate packaging work on assigned time schedule under management direction. Ability to expedite packaging orders. Ability to monitor enforcement of quality standards and company policies and procedures. Ability to prepare and evaluate packaging records. Ability to train and provide direction to other packaging team members. Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates other employees and management. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS WORKING CONDITIONS Moving around the packaging floor requires frequent standing walking and infrequent climbing of stairs. The packaging station requires frequent stooping bending and balancing. Grasping and repetitive movement or pressure involving wrists or hands are required in all aspects of packaging. The ability to occasionally lift 75 lbs. and more frequently lift 50lbs or less is required. The movement of pallets packaging finished products require the ability to push pull 1000 lbs. Satisfactory hearing and vision is required as is depth perception color vision and quick mental and muscular coordination.
