Montana Rail Link is seeking applicants for our Seasonal Track Laborer positions. Principal duties are the safe and efficient completion of maintenance and construction projects across the MRL system. Successful candidates will be monitored for adherence to safety rules and railroad regulations. These positions are subject to random drug testing per the Federal Railroad Administration drug testing regulations.Work locations are varied and applicants must be willing to accept assignments at any MRL location. Job placement is assigned according to seniority. Starting wage per the union agreement is 19.13 and increases to 21.25 after a six-months.The start date for this position will be March 2019.Requirements Commitment to working safely with the ability and desire to observe and promote safe work habits. Must exemplify MRL core values of Fairness Integrity Respect Safety and Trust. Must be 18 years of age or older. Have the ability to obtain CDL within the first 90 days of employment or currently possess CDL Ability to successfully complete a post-offer physical which includes an assessment for proper lifting techniques. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions Available to work at various job sites Weekend and holiday shifts required Factors to consider prior to application Position requires extensive travel across the state Locations can change frequently dependent on seniority This is a safety sensitive position that is covered under hours of service regulations of the Federal Railroad Administration. This includes drug and alcohol testing regulations. Successful applicants will be placed in a training class in Missoula Montana beginning in March.
