Transportation Planner Department Logistics Status Exempt Summary Manage and control all orders within a specific region or for a designated customer account while achieving total customer satisfaction Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Consolidate multiple orders to maximize efficiency and profitability Maximize payloads and determine the best mode of transport to minimize costs Contact carriers for truck availability and schedule delivery appointments at consignee Enter all freight costs verify and change any discrepancies in carrier freight bills Answer all questions about transports (transit times special rate quotes) and stock (run numbers damages systems discrepancies) to help customer fill consignee orders requests Continuously develop relationships with customers to properly assess their needs and achieve business results Monitor and assist in late shift responsibilities ensuring all loads are picked up and or accounted for. Update all necessary Jerich files on a daily basis Works under general supervision Competency To perform this job successfully an individual should demonstrate the following competencies Good interpersonal and communication skills in dealing with vendors employees and management. Meet deadlines and perform accurate work with minimal supervision. Must be able to multitask and execute assignments in a timely manner.
