Java Developer

We are seeking a Java Developer Software Engineer to assist with the java development and build of an enterprise application solution through design build and development activities for our Communications and High-Tech clients. Activities include architecture design java development and interpretation of technical and functional business requirements defect and issue resolution and continuous tuning of the enterprise application solution. This individual will also analyze and resolve solution issues with user interface in a timely and accurate fashion for any solution implementations delivered and or maintained on behalf of our clients. The Software Engineer will work closely with the other members of the team on the consulting project (i.e. program office business partners vendors client and other functional & technical staff) to develop and analyze business and technical requirements establish options recommendations and associated cost benefits and implement cost effective solutions. The Java Developer Software Engineer will document engineering standards and proposals recommendations for next-generation enterprise application solution designs technology solutions assist in the development of project teams work with other solution architects engineers technical staff and consultants to conceptualize the overall solution and develop implement next-generation technology solutions for our clients research evaluate and recommend new tools technologies and assess emerging solutions and next generation technologies assist with developing and build solutions Develop and build the solution QA and test the application solution and developing publishing whitepapers and points-of-view. Key responsibilities may include Must be able to recommend technical approaches for new functionality and migration of older technologies used in the implementation of enterprise applications Responsible for design development unit testing and documentation of new and existing software with a focus on Java technologies. Must be able to work in an agile development team using the scrum methodology to quickly deliver software iterations. Engineer will provide production support for multiple environments. Working with development and functional teams -- Collaborates with DBAs SAs and BAs to design solutions. Develops design artifacts allocates work to developers. Deploying and building code for the enterprise applications based on Java Javascipt Ant Korn shell Spring AJAX Participating in all phases of the lifecycle including design architecture development testing support and documentation Coding troubleshooting tuning of enterprise application solution before released for deployment Oversees application development monitors and reports progress. Maintains legacy applications. Ensures project architecture fundamentals are maintained by all developers. Identifies gaps in requirements and solves problems for the supporting staff. Identifies sequencing of services and technologies that are integrated in later phases of the project. Supports the Project Manager as the technical team lead on the project. Leads software design and development teams. Identifies analyzes defines and coordinates user customer and stakeholder needs and translates them into technical requirements. Manages technical resources (hardware software licenses and services). Plans and leads transformation initiatives to new software architectures. Validating and troubleshooting tier 3 support issues reported and providing information to the development team to assist in resolution Working in Test Driven Development & working within a QA org Continuous integration building deploying modules using Agile Methods Working closely with Quality Assurance Data Architect and Business Analyst teams to resolve test defects and solution issues Experience in the entire new product service introduction life cycle including design development and maintenance of a commercial product Work with business users to understand how the data is used for sales reporting and provide ideas of how to continually improve the system Proactive and always looking for ways to do things better and be more efficient Education and Certifications Bachelor s degree and or College Equivalent (Preferred Engineering Comp-Sci or Business degrees) Technical Skills and Requirements MUST have Software Engineering experience Minimum 2 years of Java development professional experience Expertise with Java Javascipt DOJO struts 2 Spring AJAX on a weblogic server development. Experience with Unix (ex Bash Cshell KShell or Pearl) scripting language Proficiency with JEE including JPA or Hibernate Proficiency with JSON and REST services Proficiency with HTML and CSS Proficiency with relational databases and SQL Previous consulting experience preferred or client service delivery experience preferred Proven ability to work in a team environment and ability to build manage and foster a team-oriented environment and client relationships Proven track record of java development including accurate technical & functional requirement interpretation solid understanding of architecture design building code and issue & risk management Excellent troubleshooting and application performance tuning skills Understanding of Infrastructure Software Development and or Solution Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) methodology Exposure to one or more of the following industries Communications & High-Tech Ability to adapt and develop solutions on-the-fly with clients prospects and help train others High degree of interpersonal skills proven ability to work well in team settings Desire to work in entrepreneurial environment Excellent leadership management and organizational skills Proficiency in verbal and written communications (including presentation skills) and interpersonal skills Confident and comfortable interacting with people in various disciplines and at various levels of an organization Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment and ability to quickly process and work with complex information
